Scandinavian Private Equity A/S : EQT VI sells VERTU

EQT VI has completed the sale of VERTU, the leading manufacturer of luxury mobile phones and related accessories.

EQT VI acquired VERTU in 2012. During EQT VI's ownership, VERTU has transferred the Company's operating system from Symbian to Google's Android, launched a range of new devices that are industry leading both from a design and technology point of view, and made substantial investment in go-to-market approach to step change customer experience. This renewed customer centric strategy has resulted in a successful improvement of Vertu's luxury brand positioning.

SPEAS has made an investment commitment of EUR 10m to the private equity fund EQT VI.

Scandinavian Private Equity A/S (SPEAS) is a Denmark-based company engaged in the investment activities in private equity funds. The Company's investment focus is on buyout funds, which are active in the Nordic region, funds primarily investing in a single country in the Nordic region, as well as funds investing in Europe. The business activities of SPEAS mainly involve deciding which private equity funds to examine for investment purposes, deciding in which private equity funds to the investment guidelines, monitoring compliance with the agreements made and conducting investor relations activities. As of January 31, 2012 the Company's investment portfolio included EQT V, EQT VI, IK 2007, Litorina III, Litorina IV, Apax Europe VII and Herkules III.
