NL Farm - The Le Family

'Because of our hard work on the farm, families all across America and the world can feed their families with healthy and affordable chicken products that are produced with the care and attention required to produce a quality product. I am blessed to be able to fill this need for others while doing what I love every day and spending time outdoors.'

As the former owner and operator of a grocery store, Nam Le understands first-hand consumer expectations about the quality of the food they bring home to their family, how it was grown and, most importantly, how much they are willing to pay for it. However, it wasn't until he built an eight-house broiler farm in Cayuga, Texas five years ago that Le fully understood all the hard work necessary to grow food, namely affordable and healthy protein like chicken.

Now a poultry and cattle farmer, Le and his wife of over 20 years, Ann Kim Nguyen, enjoy providing the world with quality protein products while reaping the benefits of living in the country and being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. 'Because of our hard work on the farm, families all across America and the world can feed their families with healthy and affordable chicken products that are produced with the care and attention required to produce a quality product,' said Le. 'I am blessed to be able to fill this need for others while doing what I love every day and spending time outdoors.'

'The NL Farm was one of our first thirty farms here in Palestine,' said Kevin Kilman, broiler flock supervisor for Sanderson Farms' Palestine, Texas production division. 'They've been here pretty much the entire time our Palestine Production division has been in operation, which is about six years. It is one of our nicest farms and Nam Le is one of our top growers. He takes care of his farm and always delivers good results.'

Considering how much work is required to maintain a working poultry and cattle farm, Le is blessed to have the help of his two sons in maintaining the proper operation of the farm such as repairing pipes, electrical wiring and other essential elements of the farm. That is no surprise for the Le family though, as farming and providing food for the world is truly a family affair.

'Without family farmers, we would have to pay exorbitant amounts of money for processed foods, but with the family farmer, we're able to feed America at an affordable cost to the end user,' said Kilman. 'Nobody wants to go to the grocery store and pay twenty dollars for a package of chicken. Thanks to local family farmers, we can buy a package of chicken at an affordable price in the grocery store or go to a restaurant and not pay fifty dollars for fried chicken.'
