Opening of the exhibition at the former Ministry of Home Affairs residence

January 24, 2013 the retrospective posthumous exhibition of the contemporary abstract artist Alexey Chistyakov opened.

About 150 works by one of the most prolific artists joined under the project "Archive" have settled on first floor of the former Ministry of Home Affairs of Russian Empire. This building was empty for the last few years.

Every visitor came to the venue at dusk and saw animated windows of the majestic building designed by Carlo Rossi. Projection patterns followed one another and invited to visit the artist's exhibition, died too early.

At the entrance every visitor could find the information about the exhibition's facilitators - Ruric and Al Gallery, - and a memorable exposition with the artist's portrait. From the left and the right are the vaulted corridors, turned into an unusual gallery for a month. January 24 around 150 people of different ages gathered to honor the memory of the artist and to admire his works collected in the same place for the first time.

Large paintings executed in the best traditions of an abstract art perfectly complied with the building with its plastered walls and spotlighting.

"This amazing exhibition is held upon the initiative and with the global support of Ruric. Our company has already proved itself as a caregiver of Saint-Petersburg's cultural and historical heritage, - says Vyacheslav Balabaev, Ruric Management CEO. - Hope this building adapted to the modern use will be able to live at the fullest very soon. We invite you to visit the exhibition and enjoy the works of art by such a talented painter yet passed away too early!"
