We're pleased to welcome Matthew Hyden as Director - Acoustics to our Air Quality & Noise Team within our Consulting UK Environment Division.

Mat is an experienced acoustician and chartered engineer with over 20 years' environmental and building acoustics consultancy experience. He joins us from Cundall where he was Head of Acoustics UK South and Midlands.

Mat has managed a wealth of building and environmental acoustics projects including HS2 Phase 1 EIA noise and vibration impact assessment, Kings Cross P2, Belgravia Gate, Royal Mint Court, construction noise management at the Shard, EBRD workplace fit-out (5 Bank Street), Cundy Street quarter, plus a number of large data centre projects in the UK, Sweden and Denmark.

A regular presenter at industry events and webinars, Mat is also a joint author of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA) / Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) 'Acoustics, ventilation and Overheating Guide', contributed to the IoA / ANC / CIEH Professional Practice Guidance - Planning and Noise document (ProPG) and is current Chairman of the ANC 'acoustics, ventilation and overheating case studies' working group.

Mat comments: "I'm excited to join RPS and am looking forward to working with the diverse and talented team on a number of great projects. My main focus will be helping our clients achieve their goals by providing sustainable, pragmatic and technically robust acoustic, noise and vibration advice."

Based in our London Farringdon Street office, Mat sits within the Environment Team where he will no doubt prove a valuable contact for multi-disciplinary opportunities with our Planning and Project Management teams.
