Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, CMP Technologies, a leader and innovator in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) technology for the global semiconductor industry, announced today that it has received a 2007 Supplier Excellence Award from customer Hitachi Semiconductor Singapore Pte. Ltd. (HNS).

HNS, a subsidiary of Japanese electronics giant Hitachi Ltd., manufactures a number of semiconductor devices, ranging from DRAM and flash memory to microcontrollers and drivers for LCD displays in mobile phones. It gives awards annually to deserving vendors in recognition of their commitments and efforts towards achieving outstanding performance and quality in the products and services they render.

HNS specifically named Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, CMP Technologies as the winner of its Excellence Award in the materials provider category, choosing it from among a field of 20 companies. HNS considers a number of criteria in choosing award recipients, including quality, technology, cost, delivery and service.
