Published 25.10.2012 08:05 Exciting new products in Norway, but lower sales for Rieber & Søn

Rieber & Søn reported lower sales and profits at today's presentation of the company's third quarter accounts.

Sales were 4.1per cent down at NOK 1 033m and the operating profit was NOK 98m.

- The underlying trend in Norway is stable in our core categories. This is a positive development since it was important to reverse the negative trend that was identified in 2011. In other parts of the Group the market situation has been more demanding, and this is reflected in the way sales have performed, says CEO Frank Mohn.

The level of major product launches from Rieber & Søn is greater than it has been for many years.

- The development of our established categories is a key activity, but we are also focused on new concepts and forms of conservation. This targeted approach is in line with our increased use of marketing support and reflects a strategy which also aims to promote activities in categories outside our core business area. Our activities will continue on this basis, says Mohn.
