Rautaruukki Oyj : Completion of Ruukki's employer-employee negotiations at the Vimpeli and Alajärvi plants and in the building components and residential roofing organisations

Employer-employee negotiations initiated in November 2012 by Ruukki Construction Oy in operations at the Vimpeli and Alajärvi plants, the building ponents and residential roofing sales organisations, and in the products and services organisation across Finland have now been pleted.

The negotiations were part of Ruukki's projects to improve petitiveness. Affecting 324 persons, the negotiations concerned workforce reductions and temporary layoffs to improve operational efficiency.

The negotiations have resulted in a workforce reduction of 35 persons, including 11 redundancies to be effected through retirement arrangements. In addition, depending on market conditions, production staff at the Vimpeli and Alajärvi plants will be temporarily laid off during spring 2013.
