Split, May 21 2018 - The representatives of PBZ Group presented today the grant amounting to HRK 340,733.75 to Slava Raškaj Educational Centre Split, thus enabling the purchase of a van with a ramp and arrangement of the sensory room to improve the social care and quality of life of children and youth with developmental difficulties.

This latest donation is a part of a humanitarian project 'Doing Good Every Day' launched by PBZ Group and American Express Card With a Heart, through which the Group provides support for the two significant projects intended for the benefit of children and young people in the Republic of Croatia: 'For a Better Life for Children in Social Care Homes' initiated by the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth and 'Monitoring the Children Exposed to Neurological Risks' initiated by the Ministry of Health, in a way that for every transaction made with American Express Card with a Heart it donates one Croatian Kuna, without additional cost for its users. The funds raised are donated to these projects in 50:50 ratio. For the project 'Doing Good Every Day' the Group has so far collected nearly 13 million Croatian Kunas. The Educational Centre Slava Raškaj Split is involved in the project 'For a Better Life for Children in Social Care Homes', and the donation to this centre is the 34th donation granted by PBZ Group as part of the project 'Doing Good Every Day' and American Express Card with Heart.

'On behalf of all the employees and the beneficiaries of the Centre, I would like to thank to the donor PBZ Group and the Ministry of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy, who have made it possible for us to purchase a custom van with a ramp and equip the sensory room at our Department' Kamenmost'. We have now solved our need for a custom vehicle and our beneficiaries have been provided with an appropriate and high quality transport to various activities: excursions, nature school, swimming, performances and travels. Out of a total of 247 beneficiaries, such transport is needed for almost all of them, because they use wheelchairs or some other aids. The department 'Kamenmost' is soon to be opened and the donation due to which we have equipped the sensory room is very significant. We want to enable the provision of high quality social services in the Department to the beneficiaries from Imotski area. With the opening of this Department, we continue the process of disseminating non-institutional forms of care and bring social services closer to the beneficiaries from the wider area of the County. I hope that we shall soon gather again at the opening of the 'Kamenmost' Department, and until then I want to thank once again to everyone supporting us', said Željka Paleka, the Director of Slava Raškaj Educational Centre Split.

'It fills me with the joy and pride that with this donation we have been able to cheer up the beneficiaries, their parents and the employees of Slava Raškaj Educational Centre, thus enabling them safer and better transport and further development. Our project 'Doing Good Every Day' in its very name includes its entire 'philosophy', commitment, and it is - persistently and patiently, day by day, year by year, donating for each transaction - to raise enough funds to help those most vulnerable - children and young people. It is this kind of approach that differs the parents of the beneficiaries of this Centre and its employees from the others: perseverance, patience, great effort and sacrifice to enable a better quality of life and better development for children and young people. Having them as examples, we wanted to contribute to their noble efforts, in order to facilitate the everyday life of the beneficiaries of Slava Raškaj Educational Centre, to make it more beautiful, joyful and safer. I truly hope that due to this donation they will feel the support of all of us',said Ana Kovač, executive director of the PBZ Card Office for Management, Monitoring and Measuring Clients' Satisfaction.
