Zagreb, July 23rd, 2018 - The representatives of PBZ Group granted a donation amounting to HRK 305,910.00 to the Children's Hospital Zagreb, enabling the purchase of digital EMNG device with evoked potentials and the upgrade of the digital EEG system for the Paediatric Clinic within the Children's Hospital Zagreb. The donation is a part of providing aid to the national project of the Ministry of Health called 'Monitoring Children Exposed to Neurological Risks', launched already in 2007 and since 2008 PBZ Group provides aid by donating hospitals around the country the funds needed for the purchase of modern medical devices to improve the quality of the care of the children exposed to neurological risks children throughout the country.

'I am more than satisfied that we are today in one of our most renowned children's hospitals and I hope that this donation and the devices purchased from it will enable the experts to detect the difficulties and start treating little patients as early as possible. PBZ Group has raised the funds for this donation through its project 'Doing Good Every Day', intended for the benefit of children and young people. We created this project ten years ago, in the desire to provide aid to the community in which we do business in long terms and on a daily basis, as the project name says itself. Today, ten years after its launch, we are proud of the outstanding achievements of this project: 13.5 million HRK and 35 donations to hospitals and social care homes. The Children Hospital Zagreb has a special place in our project 'Doing Good Every Day' as it is one of the initiators of the Project 'Monitoring Children Exposed to Neurological Risks' in which we participate, and given the extraordinary importance of treating children in the Zagreb area as well as throughout Croatia. That is why this is the third donation we have granted to this Hospital only as part of the project 'Doing Good Every Day' including the donated EEG device and the sensor room equipment', said Dinko Lucić, Chairman of the Management Board of Privredna banka Zagreb.

The Children's Hospital Zagreb, within the framework of the 'Early Intervention Program', monitors - systematically and multidisciplinary - the development of the children exposed to neurological risks. These are the children born from pregnancy complicated by mothers' illnesses, bleeding, infections or stunted foetal growth, who are exposed to the effects of adverse risk factors that impede their growth and development, and this is about 10% of newborns, of which about 3% are children highly exposed to neurological risks. At the level of Croatia, it means that every year potentially there are about four thousand children exposed to the neurological risks, that is, about 1,000 children highly exposed to neurological risks. In such children there is a risk of developing cerebral palsy, mental retardation, speech, motor, concentration and learning disorders, and timely diagnosis and rehabilitation can prevent the development of the diseases.
