- Thank you letter from Hitachi

POSCO hosted a special New Year`s event for its ``excellent suppliers`` in material, facility and construction, which took place at Cheongsongdae Park in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, on Jan. 5. The event was planned in appreciation of the suppliers` help and cooperation over the past year and preparation for a new year full of new business plans and opportunities. One of the participants, Nagato Maeda from Hitachi, sent this thank you letter to the POSCO Family to share with POSCO Weekly readers. - Ed.

I owe so much to you all.

Thank you for inviting me to the New Year`s event earlier this month and for the wonderful guest house you allowed me to stay in while I was in Pohang.

Personally, it was the first time I attended a New Year event hosted by POSCO, but everything ? from the respect and consideration for the guests to the quality of the event ? was so perfect that I thought, ``POSCO is undeniably a global player.``

Additionally, I am so glad to know that our business activities are held in such high esteem by POSCO, through the letter you gave me during the event. I have never received any other letter like this from a customer before.

Once again, it was such a great pleasure for me to attend the event.

For your information, Hitachi`s business activities are characterized by its high level of devotion to customer satisfaction.

During the event, I recognized that POSCO wants to improve its productivity, improve the quality of rolling materials and cut down on costs.

We will think about the ways to help you satisfy the needs. To this end, we will launch a campaign to reduce the basic unit required to produce steel rolls and use higher quality materials such as WZ03, RZ100 and GS hys.

I am sorry to express my gratitude through this letter, instead of visiting you in person. I promise you that we will continue our efforts to help you, but please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any idea or suggestion for us. Thank you and Happy New Year!
