- OVHcloud Carbon Calculator awarded at The Big Green
Aurore Vaudatin, Product Environmental Manager and Althea Chevalier, Project Manager CIO presented our unique approach to limiting the environmental impact of our Cloud services, as well as our Green IT policy at the Big Green, the professional forum dedicated to exchanges between players of Environmental and Social Responsibility, from the 16 to 18 October 2023. They participated in the workshop "How does a cloud operator reduce its environmental footprint: from industrial model to IT governance?" co-hosted by Elée & IJO CEO Alain Marbach.
During the forum, OVHcloud received the Green Trophy for our carbon calculator. This is the first award for the carbon calculator, which comes just a few weeks after it was made available to our customers. It's the recognition of several months' work on a reliable, transparent methodology and automation that makes it easy for our customers to access their greenhouse gas emissions.
Indeed, OVHcloud Carbon Calculator provides customers with transparent and exhaustive carbon footprint information (on scope 1, 2, 3) from manufacturing to infrastructure run. The Group is the only cloud provider to offer life cycle analysis at a component level on top of the carbon footprint of the cloud service consumption.
OVHcloud is very proud to be rewarded for its carbon calculator, the fruit of a great deal of hard work and a strong belief that we should all be aware of our impact on the environment.
