Orkla ASA reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2024. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was NOK 17,244 million compared to NOK 17,087 million a year ago. Net income was NOK 2,042 million compared to NOK 1,372 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was NOK 2.05 compared to NOK 1.38 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was NOK 2.04 compared to NOK 1.38 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was NOK 34,351 million compared to NOK 33,275 million a year ago. Net income was NOK 3,511 million compared to NOK 2,648 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was NOK 3.52 compared to NOK 2.65 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was NOK 3.52 compared to NOK 2.65 a year ago.
Orkla ASA is one of the leading Norwegian industrial groups. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- manufacture of food and consumer products (97.9%): food products (pizzas, sauces, seafood, prepared meals, fruits, chocolates, ingredients, delicatessen products, etc.), consumer products (detergents, clothing, cosmetics, personal hygiene, etc.), household cleaning products, professional cleaning products, etc.;
- hydroelectric power generation (2.1%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Norway (22.2%), Sweden (18%), Denmark (9.9%), Finland (9.5%), Baltic States (4.1%), Iceland (1.5%), Europe (27.3%) and other (7.5%).
