Northrop Grumman Corp. will continue its recent hiring surge in the Valley as it builds out a new site headquarters and expansion of its Gilbert satellite manufacturing facility. The expansion will bring 200 new jobs to the Gilbert campus during the next three years. Northrop Grumman plans to add 100,000 square feet to its existing satellite manufacturing facility on the southwest corner of McQueen and Elliot roads. This is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2021. The manufacturing facility is one of the largest and most advanced satellite assembly and test facilities in the U.S. Northrop Grumman builds satellites at this facility for NASA, the Department of Defense and other commercial and international customers. The expansion includes a new two-story, 120,000-square-foot site headquarters that will be an administrative and engineering building. This building is expected to be completed by the end of the year, Keeler said. The Gilbert expansion is part of Northrop Grumman's overall Valley growth plans, including in Mesa and Chandler.
