BALTIMORE - Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) employee Dr. Gilbert 'Chip' Jones will be honored at the 38th annual Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference. In addition to Jones, five Northrop Grumman employees were recognized as BEYA Science Spectrum Trailblazer Award Winners, and 17 were recognized as BEYA Modern Day Technology Leaders.

Dr. Jones, a systems engineer, is receiving the 2024 BEYA Legacy Award, which recognizes his ability to shape the future through outstanding systems engineering contributions and cultivating the next generation of STEM talent through mentoring and tutoring. The five employees recognized as BEYA Science Spectrum Trailblazer Award winners are Jermaine Azu, Deshawn Brown, Jada Gray, Kasey McCoy and Leah Williams.

The 17 employees recognized as BEYA Modern Day Technology Leaders are Mahlet Adamu, Justin Bates, Diana Boseman, Nicolle Collins, Roberts Etumnu, Travene Grant, Derrick Harris, Kevin Harrison, Kendall Hayman, Leah Horton, Kyle Lowe, Jerome McDonald, John Robinson, Michael Saiki, Kadeem Spencer, Deionn Yarberough and Malcolm Young.
