Online filing of business entity reports is now open in Nebraska. Secretary of State John Gale says that 2012 required reports for business entities can now be filed online with his office.

  • Biennial occupation tax reports of domestic and foreign business corporations, along with the required tax payments, are due by March 1 and delinquent by April 15.
  • Annual reports of limited liability partnerships, along with the required fees, are due April 1 and delinquent by June 1.

The reports can be filed online at http://ne.gov/go/business, and a filing FAQ is available online. Payments for the online filings may be made by credit card or electronic check.

Reminders were mailed to businesses in early January. It is not necessary to wait to receive the reminder before filing online.

"I would encourage business entities to take advantage of the convenience and ease of filing online," said Secretary Gale. "Online filing also has the benefit of easing the paperwork handled by my office." An entity that fails to file its report and pay the required fees will be dissolved, Gale said.

Other Nebraska secretary of state online services for businesses:

  • Corporate Document eDelivery
  • Corporate searches
  • UCC and EFS searches and filings

The reports are used for the office's database so the public has updated information on business entities. There are approximately 60,000 foreign and domestic corporations registered with the Nebraska Secretary of State's Business Services Division.
