(OTC Bulletin Board: NPDT) (www.newportdt.net) announced today that it has opened a sales, engineering and operations office in Zhonghe City, placing it among the world's finest technology companies in Taipei County, part of the Taipei metropolitan area, the largest city in Taiwan. NPDT also announced that is has appointed Taiwan technology industry veteran Elsie Kao as General Manager in charge of Newport Digital's day-to-day operations in Taiwan.

"The opening and staffing of our Taiwan office is a key strategic development for NPDT because of our strategic collaboration with Taiwan's leading technology research and development organizations, the Institute for Information Industry (III) and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)," said Newport Digital Technologies CEO Gary DeMel. Our selection of Elsie Kao as General Manager is based on her long and successful career in Taiwan technology. She will be leading a team of experienced project managers who will be facilitating the launch of NPDT's wireless technology solutions."

Ms. Kao has more than 16 years experience in OEM/ODM manufacturing in Taiwan, specifically in the wireless telecom, Bluetooth, WLAN, wireless ADSL and RFID markets. She has worked in the International Group at III; was a Senior Director at BTcom Co., Ltd.; was Director in the Wireless Division of Calcomp; and was a Senior Project Manager at Tecom.
