MPM Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:MPML) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Nupower, Inc. has received a Letter of Intent from Remetco Inc. for the purchase of Skygas? equipment for on-going projects and technology usage rights for the future development of waste-to-energy projects in Canada. The value of Nupower's supply will be in the range of $80 million. A formal purchase agreement will be executed on or before October 1, 2010. The Letter of Intent also provides for a long-term partnership on an exclusive basis.

Remetco Inc. has developed a new closed loop recovery system for both precious metals and its secondary by-products from electronic scrap (e-scrap), spent tires, plastics, municipal solid wastes, automotive catalytic converters along with other industrial and pharmaceutical spent catalysts with 0% landfill requirement. Nupower's Skygas? process provides the most efficient and cost effective solution for treating the wastes discharged from Remetco's resource and metals recovery system. The waste-to-energy system will generate power required for the recovery system with substantial surplus to power the neighboring cities. The first plant, located in Welland, Ontario, will process waste at the capacity of 500 tons per day. The capacity of the Welland plant will be expanded to 5,000 tons per day in five years.

MPM COO Frank E. Hsu stated, ?Remetco's use of Skygas? as the technology for their waste-to-energy systems marks the beginning of our worldwide commercialization of Skygas? technology, as well as the end of an era of deficiency in quality and capacity of gasification systems in the fast growing waste gasification market.?

Remetco CEO Hans Stickling stated, ?We have spent an entire year reviewing and comparing various gasification technologies for the waste-to-energy plant in our facility. Skygas? turned out to be the sure selection owing to its exceptional technical, commercial advantages and installation experience in high capacity systems. We are very encouraged by the perfect synergy between Nupower and Remetco, and believe that together we will quickly duplicate the Welland recovery facility in many parts of the world.?

Skygas? is a unique electrokinetic process that converts solid and semisolid carbonaceous wastes into a clean-burning synthesis gas that can be used to generate electric power and to produce synthetic diesel. Skygas? overcomes the shortcomings generally associated with incineration and thermal and plasma arc gasification methods.

MPM Technologies, Inc. is a holding company with three subsidiaries: Nupower Inc., which is engaged in the development and commercialization of Skygas?, AirPol, Inc. which builds, installs and services industrial air pollution control systems, and MPM Mining Inc., an exploration and development company with gold and silver mining properties in Montana.
