Mobilicom Limited announced it has delivered a second order of its SkyHopper PRO to FLIR. FLIR is moving into the unmanned vehicles market through its acquisition of Altavian, a manufacturer of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for defense and public safety customers, Endeavor Robotics, a leading manufacturer in unmanned ground systems (UGS) and combat-proven robots, and Aeryon, which makes high-performance drones for military, public safety and industrial operations. FLIR aims to become a top tier solution provider for robotics and drones and to capitalize on the US Department of Defense's plan to increase spending on unmanned systems. FLIR placed an initial order with Mobilicom for its SkyHopper PRO devices in November 2020, after completing extensive tests of its data link solution over several months. Mobilicom received the second purchase order after FLIR successfully integrated SkyHopper PRO into its new drone platform.
