MTS expanded the coverage of its 3G network in the city and region of St Petersburg. The number of base stations rose by 20% in 2013, and MTS covered over 60 remote agglomerations with 3G in Tikhvin, Kingisepp, Slantsy, Lodeinoye-Pole and Priozyorsk. The whole 3G network was switched to IP in 2013, and DC-HSDPA+ was launched on over 65% of 3G base stations.
Preparatory work to launch LTE services was also carried out.
