Mitsubishi has opened bookings for its locally assembled ASX sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Malaysia, ahead of the vehicle's official production line-off ceremony to be held later this month. The ASX is powered by a 2.0-litre MIVEC gasoline (petrol) engine, which generates 150 PS (147.95 bhp) and torque of 197 Nm, and is mated to an INVECS-III continuous variable transmission (CVT). The SUV will be available in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions, with the former variant priced at 114,267 ringgit (USD 34,750) and the latter model priced at MYR 128,880 on the road, without insurance.

The car will be available to customers beginning February. Apart from the ASX, Mitsubishi's Malaysian vehicle line-up currently includes the Attrage and Lancer sedans, the Mirage hatchback, the Pajero SUV, and the Triton pick-up.
