At one of the largest Russian IT-forums 'Digitalization of Industrial Russia' 2024, Nornickel demonstrated its latest IT achievements presenting the key projects developed as part of Russia's industrial competence centres. These projects emphasise the company's readiness to offer solutions not only for metals and mining but also for other industries.

Nornickel is creating four industry-specific solutions. Three of them are in the Metallurgy industrial competence centre - a mining and geological information system, mining planning and dispatching of underground mining operations. Another one in the industrial competence centre Ecology is the project called "Development of a predictive emission monitoring system". Russian industrial companies have shown strong interest in these products, confirming their versatility and efficiency.

Over the past year, Nornickel completed the production of prototypes. These products were developed without disconnecting from production and business, which allowed the company to maximise the use of its resources. One of the key solutions is predictive emissions monitoring, which, in addition to metallurgy, can be implemented in such industries as oil and gas, petrochemical engineering, and power generation.

Nornickel also supports "Data Economy", the new national programme designed to simplify exchange between the government and businesses. Speaking at the conference Nornickel President Vladimir Potanin emphasised the importance of a unified 'Data Showcase' technology, which will facilitate more efficient information exchange and improve the regulatory framework overall.

Vladimir Potanin, Nornickel President, said: "We are now beginning to transfer the results of the work on IT projects into the hands of independent vendors, and subsequently thinking of creating a digital platform over which everyone could communicate, vendors and users alike, share royalties fairly and, on the other hand, form requests for new industry requirements. Plus, we would be able to see smaller vendors on this platform, which are not visible now because of the dominance of large contractors."

Nornickel maintains its role as one of the leaders in industrial IT innovation, offering solutions that can be useful not only for metallurgy, but also for other key industries. Participation in 'Digitalization of Industrial Russia' 2024 is yet another sign of Nornickel's commitment to technology development and support of national IT programmes.
