On January 18, 2016, China Internet Plus Group closed the transaction. The company received $500,000,000 in its third tranche of series B round of funding. The company received over $3,300,000,000 in the transaction.

The investors acquired 18.3% stake in the company through this transaction. The round was led by existing investor, Tencent Holdings Limited and new investors DST Global and TrustBridge Partners. The transaction included participation from existing investor Sequoia Capital, along with China China Development Bank Capital Corporation Ltd., Baillie Gifford & Co Ltd, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited, and other investors.
