MegaFon and Rostelecom, a general partner of the 2014 Sochi Olympics, have completed the construction of mobile networks at the Olympic Park in Sochi, spending a total of RUB 10 billion in preparation for the games. The company said that is has completed 100% of the network's construction on the Coastal and Mountain Clusters. In particular, the company installed over 680 2G/3G base stations and over 270 4G base stations.

On the Mountain Cluster, over 100 kilometers of fiber-optic lines were installed, over 40 kilometers on the Coastal Cluster and over 80 kilometers between clusters. The networks have been launched with a monitoring center that controls the quality and amount of traffic of the network. The telco will continue optimizing the network at individual stations until February 7. MegaFon will also continue cooperating and developing regulations with various organizations to provide security during the games.

MegaFon will be responsible for providing the organizers and visitors of the games with mobile network services, including exclusive services such as 4G, as well as with mobile content and additional services. As a general Olympic partner, Rostelecom will provide telephone services, broadband internet access, data center services and device servicing.
