Media Prima Berhad : APPOINTS GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR AND GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 October 2021 - Media Prima Berhad ("Media Prima" or the "Group") would like to announce the appointments of Rafiq Razali as its Group Managing Director, and Rosli Sabarudin as its Group Chief Financial Officer effective 1 October 2021.

As Group Managing Director, Rafiq brings comprehensive experience in business development and strategic planning. His track record includes establishing and scaling start-up companies related to digital and information technology.

Rafiq first joined Media Prima as the Chief Executive Officer of REV Media Group on 15 April 2016 and was subsequently appointed as Group Executive Director on 18 February 2021. Rafiq was instrumental in leading Media Prima to become one of Malaysia's leading digital media companies through unifying the Group's digital strategy, and expanding its digital reach and assets.

Rafiq began his career with Maxis Berhad where he held various positions that included responsibilities in the International Business division and the Corporate Strategy division. In 2011, he moved on to Groupon Malaysia and was promoted as its Country General Manager for Malaysia in 2013, following an impressive run of performance by the outfit. In 2015, Rafiq was part of the founding team that established KFit (now known as Fave), a Malaysian start-up with operations across the Asia Pacific region. Fave was recently acquired by a leading regional fintech company. Rafiq is also currently an Endeavor mentor.

The Group also announced the appointment of Rosli as Group Chief Financial Officer. Rosli first joined Media Prima in 2012 where his scope of responsibilities included Financial Controller for Media Prima Television Networks and Primeworks Studios. He played an instrumental role in the setting up of CJ Wow Shop (now known as WOWSHOP), a joint venture in 2016 between Media Prima and South Korea's CJ ENM O Shopping Division. Rosli was appointed as Acting Group Chief Financial Officer on 24 April 2020 and previously served as Group General Manager, Finance (Financial Reporting, System and Operations). He began his career with Tenaga Nasional Berhad assuming various roles within 14 years with the company, with his last appointment as Head of Finance of TNB Remaco.

Commenting on the appointment of Rosli as Group Chief Financial Officer, Datuk Seri (Dr) Syed Hussian said: "Rosli brings more than 20 years experience in accounting, finance and management in the utilities and media industries. His key strengths are process improvements and reengineering, and he has played a key role in several major transformation initiatives undertaken by the Group over the years.
