CLEVELAND, March 12, 2012 - The Lubrizol Corporation, in partnership with Partners in Science Excellence, announces the winners of The Lubrizol Corporation Lake County Science Teacher Award. Each year, two Lake County, Ohio science teachers at the elementary school, middle school/junior high or high school levels in public, private or parochial schools are recognized for their excellence in teaching science.

Local school administrators and faculty nominated 11 teachers for this school year's award. A panel of judges from Partners in Science and Lubrizol selected the 2011-2012 winner: Pat Betteley - Perry Middle School, who will receive $5,000 for science-related teaching expenses of her choice. Runner-up: Alison Hinesman - Heritage Middle School, will receive $2,500 for science-related teaching expenses of her choice. Both teachers will be recognized at a program in their school districts.

We are pleased to honor outstanding teachers in our own community who go above and beyond in making a difference for their students," said David Enzerra, Lubrizol director of community and public affairs.

In the award's 18-year history, Lubrizol is proud to have honored more than 90 Lake County science teachers.
