Lithium Energy Ltd (ASX:LEL) executive chairman William Johnson is back with Proactive’s Elisha Newell after the explorer defined a 3.3-million-tonne maiden resource at its Solaroz Lithium Brine Project in Argentina.

The initial resource outlines a high-grade lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) core, weighing in at 1.34 million tonnes with an average concentration of 405 mg/l lithium.

Johnson says drilling will continue at Solaroz, targeting areas where potential for more lithium has been highlighted by geophysics.

“This maiden resource estimate confirms the potential for Solaroz to be a world-class lithium project,” he told investors on Thursday.

“[The] reported lithium grades, brine volumes, magnesium/lithium ratios, and specific yields are all positive indicators for the potential economic future of brine extraction at Solaroz.”

With the resource under its belt, Lithium Energy will turn its attention to fast-tracking Solaroz’ development.
