  • Family-owned company chooses Kögel for automotive transport
  • Christian Scheck is excited of the Kögel Servicemobil

The SCHECK Lagerhaus + Transporte GmbH, an expanding logistics and transport company, is continuously extending its fleet of currently more than 200 vehicles. Recently, this forwarding company in Neutraubling near Regensburg accepted delivery of 35 new Mega semi-trailers. These high-capacity trailers made by Kögel play an important role in the growth strategy of the transport and logistics specialists, who have been successful in the market for over 90 years. The new trailers are mainly used for transporting just-in-time goods for the automotive industry.

The Mega trailers are perfectly suited for conventional standard tasks as well as for use as a high-volume transport vehicle. Their usable internal height of three metres makes them the ideal trailers for the automotive sector. Loading and unloading of three stacked pallet cages is simple, thanks to the standard mechanical/hydraulic lifting roof. This roof-lifting equipment has a traverse of 500 millimetres and increases the lateral loading height to three metres. Furthermore, Kögel Mega has no straps hanging down into the loading area when the roof is open, because the straps are integrated into the roof tarpaulin. This entirely eliminates straps snagging on the load. The Mega trailers are, of course, serially certified according to DIN EN 12642 Code XL.

SCHECK special equipment
The new 35 SCHECK trailers are equipped according to the Daimler Directive 9.5 for special applications in the automotive sector. This includes a pallet limit rail, double bulk head, 24 belt tighteners and three rows of V-aluminium lattices. Transverse steel brackets are mounted on the frame end plate to provide fork lift and locking cam protection and ensure better impact protection in addition to the steel rubber bumpers. The standard equipment for optimal load securing includes 13 pairs of lashing rings, each with 2,000 kg of tensile strength, fitted into the outer Vario-Fix steel frame. Thanks to two continuous roof frame profiles, no post supports are required when the side tarpaulin is open.

"Our order says 'just-in-time', fast and reliable. To achieve that, warehouse and staff members must form a well-integrated team and the trailers must be top quality," said Christian Scheck, managing director at SCHECK GmbH. "I am also thrilled with the reliable spare and wearing part supply provided by the Kögel Servicemobil within 24 hours."
