iShares, Inc. - iShares MSCI Hong Kong Index Fund announced unaudited earnings results for the six months ended February 29, 2012. For the six months, the company reported total investment income of $28,395,537, net investment income of $23,700,048, net realized and unrealized gain of $124,645,479, net realized loss of $106,167,970.
iShares MSCI Hong Kong Index Fund, formerly Shares MSCI Hong Kong ETF, (the Fund), is an exchange-traded fund. The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of publicly traded securities in the Hong Kong market, as measured by the MSCI Hong Kong Index (the Index). The Index consists of stocks traded primarily on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The Fund invests in a representative sample of securities included in the Index that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index. The Index seeks to measure the performance of the Hong Kong equity market. Index is a capitalization-weighted index that aims to capture 85% of the (publicly available) total market capitalization. Component companies are adjusted for available float and must meet objective criteria for inclusion to the Index. Index is reviewed quarterly. The investment advisor of the Fund is BlackRock Fund Advisors.
