Innovative Composites International Inc. announced the introduction of a Rapid Tactical Emergency Relief Module called the RapTER. The RapTER modules have been designed to meet the challenging needs of emergency response teams, civic and military agencies. Quick deployment shelters are necessary for these groups but the current shelters offered in the marketplace are temporary solutions, offering minimal structural integrity, security and sustainability. A single large RapTER module can be assembled in approximately 10 minutes by two people with no special training, tools or equipment required. Made with ICI's patented lightweight, rigid and durable RMor Skin, these modules offer more durability than tents and more functionality than trailers while providing the structural integrity, security and sustainability typically found in permanent structures. The modules are available in two sizes, Regular and Extended, each weighing 700 and 1,600 pounds respectively. The Extended modules are ideal for command centers, medical facilities, dining facilities and communication centres. The Regular modules are ideal for forward deployed command posts, storage, kitchen facilities, guardhouses, or a simple recreation room. The simple design of the Regular RapTER modules allows them to fold flat to a height of 36'. This allows for up to 28 Regular modules to be transported on a single 53' flatbed truck, making them readily available in nearly any terrain or territory. Their weather sealed design can also withstand high winds and impacts, allowing them to be deployed where other rapid deployment shelters cannot be. Once on site, deployment is relatively easy. A two person team simply raises the sides, front and back and locks or fastens them into place. The roof is then placed on top, locked in place and the sealed, sturdy and protected module is completed.
