Inmarsat PLC Appoints Hamadoun Touré to the Board as Non-Executive Director, Effective March 1, 2015

Inmarsat PLC announced that Dr. Hamadoun Touré will join the Board on 1 March 2015 as a non-executive director. Dr. Touré will become a member of the Nominations Committee. Dr. Touré was Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union from 2007 to 2014.

Inmarsat is the world's No. 1 of mobile communication services (telephone, video, Internet, etc.) via satellite, intended primarily for the maritime, aeronautical, defense, media, and energy sectors. The group also offers space aboard its satellites. Sales break down by activity as follows: - voice and data transmission (91.1%): maritime transmissions (41.4% of net sales), land transmissions (28.5%), aeronautical transmissions (19.2%) and other (10.9%); - broadband services (8.9%). At the end of 2018, the group owned 13 geostationary satellites. Net sales break down geographically as follows: the United Kingdom (4.9%), Europe (30.3%), North America (40.5%), Asia/Pacific (17.6%) and other (6.7%).
