The Witches of OZ Based on the L. Frank Baum Books and Radio Rebel Starring Teen Sensation Debby Ryan to be Released in 2012!

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2012-- Image Entertainment, Inc. (OTCQB:DISK) has inked a deal with MarVista Entertainment for the home entertainment and digital rights to two films based on the works of two widely read authors. The Witches of OZ is based on the works of famed author L. Frank Baum and Danielle Joseph's beloved Shrinking Violet comes to life in Radio Rebel. The agreement was announced today by Bill Bromiley, Chief Acquisitions Officer for Image Entertainment.

The Witches of OZ is based on the OZ stories by L. Frank Baum. Dorothy Gale (Paulie Rojas, The Last Resort) lives in rural Kansas where she is a writer of children's books. The inspiration for her stories is a notable one: her grandfather was the creator of the Land of Oz, that country that has kindled children's imaginations for generations. One day Dorothy's quiet, sleepy life gets a wake-up call when she receives an offer from a New York publisher to represent her books. Once she arrives in New York, she learns even more startling news: that her stories are not 'stories' at all, but suppressed childhood memories of her own life in Oz. Now Dorothy is about to experience her childhood adventures all over again. The film also stars Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Ethan Embry (Harold and Kumar go to White Castle), Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), Lance Henriksen (The Terminator) and Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future trilogy).

Radio Rebel, based on author Danielle Joseph's popular novel Shrinking Violet, tells the story of a shy 17-year old, Tara (Debby Ryan, 16 Wishes, "The Suite Life on Deck"), whose secret life begins with harmless podcasts from the privacy of her bedroom. But, her smooth talking "on-air" personality, Radio Rebel, couldn't be more unlike Tara. And when her alter ego gains in popularity, Tara is given a shot at hosting her own show on her stepdad's radio station, but decides to keep her true identity a secret. The film co-stars Sarena Parmar ("How to be Indie," "Degrassi"), Adam DiMarco ("The Haunting Hour"), Merritt Patterson ("Kyle XY"), Mercedes de la Zerda (John Tucker Must Die), Atticus Mitchell ("My Babysitter's A Vampire") and Allie Bertram ("Smallville"). Radio Rebel will premiere on February 17, 2012 as a Disney Channel Original Movie.
