Partner Eperium Helps Build Smarter - Online and Offline

Detroit/Stuttgart, July 20, 2012 - On July 12th, Bouwmaat launched its new online store, bouwmaat.nl, guaranteeing 24/7 product line availability to its customers. Bouwmaat is the wholesaler for building materials, and Eperium has developed and implemented for them an ecommerce strategy and online store that includes an underlying product information management system.

The Product Information Management (PIM) system, based on Heiler software, allows Bouwmaat to fill all of the different communication channels from a single information source. This guarantees consistent and up-to-date product information online, in print, and in the 46 branch outlets.

New Strategy Boosts Sales and Convenience
Bouwmaat selected Eperium as its partner to provide advice about its ecommerce strategy. Eperium was also responsible for implementing both the online store and the PIM system. Setting up a PIM system in junction with the online store maximizes Bouwmaat's efficiency because all information comes from a central source. Bouwmaat also expects to achieve higher turnovers with the new system. "We are now available to our customers anytime and anywhere," boasts Bernard Verburg, director of Bouwmaat Nederland. "The entire Bouwmaat catalog containing 12,000 items is available on our online store, in addition to our 46 branch outlets. Guaranteed in-stock. Customers can have items delivered to any location they wish, or pick them up at an outlet store. This makes it even more convenient for them. That's what we mean by 'build everything smarter'."

Multichannel Strategy Supports Innovation
Bouwmaat is the first company in its industry with an online store and 46 physical locations. The multichannel strategy developed for Bouwmaat by Eperium supports this spirit of innovation. Gertjan Schaefers, director of Eperium says, "With Bouwmaat, we see an interesting shift in focus. In the past, it was entirely on their stores and print. You could add an online store to this as an additional channel. Integrating these channels with a PIM system, which we implemented for Bouwmaat, puts them one step further down the path toward establishing a true multichannel strategy. This is much more attractive commercially because more sales can be achieved to the same customers."
