LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Hanmi Financial Corp. (HAFC) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $14.3 million.

The bank, based in Los Angeles, said it had earnings of 47 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $63.2 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $55.7 million, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $53 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $42.2 million, or $1.38 per share. Revenue was reported as $224 million.

Hanmi Financial shares have increased almost 7% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $12.09, a decrease of 34% in the last 12 months.
