Grubhub customers will be hearing a new prompt when placing a call to a restaurant using the ordering app, which will direct them to press the No. 1 to place an order or the No. 2 for anything else, according to a Crains New York Business report. The company made the change to fix a months-long problemin its ordering system that has been causing restaurants to get stuck with incorrect charges, the report said.

The new prompt will allow the company to determine if a call resulted in an order. Only calls that result in orders will carry a fee.

Restaurants claim they have been getting commission charges of $4 and $9 ever when calls did not result in sales. The New York City Council advised the company in November that it would take legal action if the company did not change its policy within 60 days.

Restaurants will be able to review calls that result in fees. Those that feel they have been unfairly charged will have 120 days to seek refunds.
