FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: GREAT FLORIDA BANK EMPLOYEES LIGHT THE NIGHT

MIAMI LAKES, FL (November 1, 2011) - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) today announced that employees from Great Florida Bank (GFB) have formed a team that will participate in this fall's Light The Night® Walk, raising money to help beat cancer and provide critical support to patients and their families.
Each year, in communities all across the United States and Canada, teams of families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations come together to raise funds for The Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society's Light The Night® Walk events and bring help and hope to people battling blood cancers. Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets.
Light The Night® Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. During this leisurely walk, participants carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer - thousands of walkers - men, women and children - form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer.
"We are grateful to the companies and employees who are lending their support to this year's Walk," said Adriana LeCorgne, LLS Campaign Manager. "Their participation goes a long way toward bringing attention to the critical need to fund lifesaving cancer research and support services for patients and their families."
In addition to participating in the Walk, GFB will host a special happy hour event on October 27 at their Fort Lauderdale Solution Center. The goals of the event are to raise funds for LLS and promote the Walk.
"We are proud to be part of this terrific event," said Iliana Miguel, Business Banking Vice President, who has been named Team Captain for GFB. "Great Florida Bank prides itself in being the corporate citizen of choice in the markets we serve, and we are truly committed to help LLS make a difference in South Florida."
This year, Walks will be held on November 3rd at Bay Front Park- Miami and November 12th at Huizinga Plaza in Ft. Lauderdale. Last year, approximately $45 million was raised through Light The Night® Walks in more than 200 communities in North America.
