Gowing Bros Limited announces that today Tony Salier has resigned as non-executive Chairman and non-executive Director of the Company, ending an association with the Company which spans almost 50 years, initially as the Company's lawyer, subsequently since 1974, as a non-executive Director and more recently, since 1994, as Chairman.
Tony foreshadowed his retirement at the Company's Annual General Meeting last October, thanking the members for their loyalty to the Company in its many transformations over the period and expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to play a part in the success of the Company and his admiration for the members of the Board of Directors and the staff, both past and present, with whom he has been privileged to serve.
Tony paid special tribute to the current Managing Director, John Gowing, and to John's father and former Chairman and Managing Director, Ted Gowing, for their crucial roles in ensuring the growth and prosperity of the Company.
In response, members present at the AGM thanked Tony for his service to the Company and today the Board adds its thanks and appreciation and wishes him a healthy and satisfying future.
