The UK entity of New York-listed Genius Sports has been hit with legal action by the founders of London based marketing tech startup Spirable, a company it acquired three years ago. Genius Sports acquired Spirable (formerly Photospire) back in 2021 in order to enhance official data-driven video marketing capabilities. However, its former founders are now suing the US group over alleged reduction to their earn-out entitlement. The case was filed by Gerard O'Meara, David O'Meara, Frontline Venture Fund II and Smedvig Capital XIV, who are seeking declaration on issuance of loan notes and shares by the group. The Claimants allege that the defendant failed to issue the required loan notes and shares and seek damages for this failure.
