14:43 ET -- General Motors is one of the most mentioned companies in the U.S. across all news items in the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that GM agreed to retire about 50 million metric tons of greenhouse gas credits to resolve an investigation of excess carbon dioxide emissions. The EPA said the action involves about 4.6 million 2012-2018 full size pickups and SUVs and about 1.3 million 2012-2018 midsize SUVs. GM reported on Tuesday that second-quarter vehicle deliveries were up 0.6%, with strong results for electric vehicles. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva. (josh.beckerman@wsj.com)
