General Motors (GM) has announced that its plant in St Petersburg, Russia, will completely stop production for almost two months as a result of falling demand for the models manufactured at the facility. The company has taken the decision to halt production at the facility between 23 March and 14 May in order to rebalance inventories for vehicles manufactured at the facility with demand. Workers at the plant will be paid during the downtime, in line with Russian labor legislation.
