MOSCOW,Russian Federation,January 12, 2012 - Ford Sollers sold 118,031 Ford vehicles in Russia in 2011, an increase of 30 per cent compared with 2010, and the best sales year for Ford vehicles in the country since 2007.

Sales of the locally-produced Focus and Mondeo increased 23 per cent and 38 per cent, respectively.

With the arrival of the new Focus in Russia, sales of the model increased substantially in the fourth quarter of 2011. Total Focus sales for the full year were 82,461units. Sales of Mondeo increased from quarter-to-quarter, and totalled 15,123 for the year. In December, Mondeo sales reached a record 1,993 units.

Kuga was another strong performer, increasing sales by 158 per cent, to 2,900, in 2011. Fiesta and Fusion also were popular with Russian customers, with sales rising 56 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively.

Commercial vehicles sales were dramatically higher, with Transit more than doubling sales compared with 2010.

Nine new Ford dealerships were opened in Russia in 2011, taking the total to 103 dealers. There are currently Ford dealerships in 68 Russian cities.

Russia was the fifth-largest market in Europe for sales of Ford vehicles in 2011.

About Ford Sollers

The Ford Sollers joint venture started operation on October 1, 2011, and is responsible for the production, import and distribution of all Ford brand products, including vehicles, parts and accessories, in Russia. The Ford Sollers joint venture includes vehicle production facilities in Vsevolozhsk (St.Petersburg region), and in Naberezhnye Chelny and in the special economic zone of Alabuga in the Republic of Tatarstan. Ford Sollers also will manufacture engines and operate a stamping facility that will provide a higher level of local parts content for Ford vehicles built in Russia. It also plans to establish research and development activities.
