Ferro Corp. announced that it would be closing a plant in Washington County as part of a move to relocate jobs to Mexico. 160 jobs will be cut while another 50 employees will be offered positions at other Ferro locations or to work from home. The transition of shutting down the facility will begin shortly and will extend through the year and possibly into 2020. The facility in Washington County is among several plants being shut down by Ferro, including a facility in Cleveland and multiple sites in Latin America. This will allow the company to further consolidate work to the Villagran plant, where Ferro has had a presence since 1981.
