Tokyo stocks were mixed Wednesday morning as buying after a three-day losing streak was offset by profit-taking in some blue chips such as Fast Retailing Co.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 39.07 points, or 0.14 percent, from Tuesday to 27,119.56. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 6.14 points, or 0.34 percent, at 1,797.36.

Decliners were led by electric appliance and chemical issues, while mining and marine transportation issues led gainers.
