Tokyo stocks ended mixed Wednesday as buying on dips was offset by profit-taking in some blue chips such as Fast Retailing Co.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 102.69 points, or 0.38 percent, from Tuesday at 27,055.94. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 4.96 points, or 0.28 percent, higher at 1,796.18.

Decliners were led by electric appliance and chemical issues, while mining and marine transportation issues led gainers.
