Solunion CEO Fernando Pérez-Serrabona, received the prize at a recent ceremony in Madrid and dedicated it to all Solunion employees. He highlighted the value of credit insurance as a driving force for business growth and its important role in economic recovery. He also thanked MAPFRE and Euler Hermes for their central roles in making the Solunion joint venture project a reality.

The Excellence awards are based on a combination of managerial performance and value and contribution to society. Dirigentes noted that, "With MAPFRE and Euler Hermes as "parents", the base from which Solunion starts out is very strong, combining the experience and the knowledge of the people who (created) it."

The awards event was presided over by Mario Garcés Sanagustín, undersecretary of Public Works,  representing the Minister of Public Works; Antonio Núñez Martín, cabinet director of Social Policy; Arturo Fernández Álvarez, vice chairman of CEOE, chairman of CEIM and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid; Óscar Sánchez González, CEO of Kyocera (sponsor); Diego Copado Fernández, managing director of communication and external relations of El Corte Inglés (sponsor); and Victorio Merino Arribas, chairman of Dirigentes group.
