Emporia has launched its first smartphone in the Netherlands. The Austrian company is introducing the Emporia Smart Android 4.4 smartphone, designed with a simple user interface for use by seniors. The Emporia Smart has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen that can be controlled both through touch and a stylus.

It also features a special keyboard cover with numeric pad for users more familiar with the traditional face of a phone, a SOS button on the back to call up to five pre-programmed numbers and integration with hearing aids. The Emporia Smart also comes with a back 8-megapixel camera and front 2-megapixel camera, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 512 MB memory and 4 GB internal storage plus memory card slot. It will sell for EUR 279 at Coolblue.
