ELAN Monthly Sales Report - September 2023

ELAN Microelectronics Corp. (the Company), a leading touch controller solution provider in global NB market, announced its consolidated net sales of NT$ 1,207 million for September 2023, up 1.26% MoM & up 34.26% YoY. The main reasons are that the NB inventory destocking coming to an end, clients restarting to purchasing goods and rush orders increasing. YTD sales decreased by 19.14% YoY to NT$ 8,948 million.

The sales breakdown in August 2023: Touchpad Module 51%, Touchscreen Controller 15%, Fingerprint Sensor 13%, Pointstick (PST) 10%, Microcontroller 5%, and 6% from the sales of affiliates. Touch applications, including biometric applications, accounted for 79%, and non-touch applications accounted for 21%.

Until 3Q23, the NB market has gone through more than one year of destocking, and it is obvious that the inventory problem is gradually no longer the main factor of market disturbance. At present, the buying momentum in the consumer market is not strong, based on external macro uncertainties still affecting consumption confidence of consumers and enterprises. Thus, most market research companies expect 2023 NB unit shipments to drop by ~10% YoY.

ELAN continues to focus on "content value increase" through value-added spec upgrades, which consistently renders greater revenue contribution per NB. Meanwhile, ELAN actively expands its exposures to new products and applications, in the area of automotive electronics, biometric smart card, mini/micro LED display and ADAS solutions, to build a solid foundation for revenue and profitability growth momentum in the mid-/long-term.
