Ei : launches refreshed national awards scheme

Ei Group, the UK's largest pub company, is launching a revitalised awards programme to recognise the outstanding publicans in its estate, those pubs at the heart of their local communities and operational excellence across the company.

Launching on Thursday 4th January via www.eigroupawards.com, the Ei Group Awards for Excellence will be open to publicans across the UK that are part of the Ei Publican Partnerships Business Unit. Categories include:

· Best Community Hub
· Best Marketing Initiative
· Best Food Offer
· Best Sports Venue
· Excellence in Cellar Standards
· Best Joint Investment
· Best Newcomer
· Best Live Music Venue
· Best Turnaround
· Best Multiple Operator
· Best Outdoor Area
· Lifetime Achievement Award
· Ei Group Pub of the Year

A number of industry experts have been invited to judge the awards, alongside senior Ei Group executives.

Paul Harbottle, Group Commercial Director at Ei Group, said: 'Our new awards programme is an opportunity for us to celebrate the most outstanding operators across our estate, learn from the best and inspire other publicans to further raise retail standards and business performance.

'We look forward to reviewing the entries and discovering more about the many fantastic pubs we have across the country, and celebrating with our publicans at the awards night next summer.'

The Ei Group Awards for Excellence winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony at Coombe Abbey, Warwickshire on 10 July 2018.

Ei Group plc, formerly Enterprise Inns plc, is a leased and tenanted pub company in the United Kingdom. The Company includes a portfolio of businesses comprising a range of operating models and trading styles. Its businesses include Ei Publican Partnerships, Ei Commercial Properties, Ei Managed Operations and Ei Managed Investments. Its Ei Commercial Properties business manages a developing portfolio of assets, which it leases to third parties on commercial property terms. Its business also provides asset management support for its leased and tenanted, and managed house businesses. The Ei Managed Operations business manages approximately 100 pubs with over 30 trading under its Bermondsey operation and approximately 70 under its Craft Union operation. It also develops standalone and residential sites on land that is surplus to pub requirements. The Company has over 4,400 properties that are run as leased and tenanted pubs.
