Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins parent, Dunkin' Brands, has named three vice presidents to its international team, including two in-house promotions and the hiring of a former Coca-Cola executive, a news release said.

Joining the company as vice president of international marketing is Ashish Asthana, a former winery co-founder and Coca-Cola marketing executive in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions. During his time at The Coca-Cola Company, Ashish built and led successful marketing teams and implemented world-class marketing initiatives that drove record sales. Most recently, Asthana helped found the first zero-sugar wine company, The Pure Winery.

"Ashish is an innovative marketing leader with a strong entrepreneurial sense who knows how to build brands, introduce highly differentiated products and implement transformative marketing programs," Dunkin' Brands CEO Dave Hoffmann said in the release.

Promoted from inside the company are:

  • Regional Vice President Asia Pacific Rini Ernawati.
  • Regional Vice President Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia Caner Gursoy.

"These appointments are another measure of our efforts to make Dunkin' Brands a more field-centric organization so that our decision-making process is more nimble and occurs closer to the consumer," Hoffman said.

He credited Ernawati with having a talent for building the kind of infrastructure needed to grow brands and for her astute ability to assess new markets, which he said "will be key to our growth plans across the APAC region."

Hoffmann said Caner is a team builder who has great skills to create business plans that produce results. Dunkin' Brands now has more than 21,000 points of distribution in more than 60 countries worldwide. It is completely franchised, including all 13,000-plus Dunkin' restaurants and more than 8,000 Baskin-Robbins restaurants.
