Alongside tech giants like Facebook, Salesforce and Adobe, Delta Air Lines was named atop company to work for as a software engineer by employment review website, Glassdoor. Delta is the only airline and travel company listed.

Glassdoor cited the company's Best Places to Work rating - 4.4 out of 5 - as well as its culture of inclusion, flight privileges for employees and their loved ones to travel the world for free or at a discounted rate, and leadership approval, including a CEO rating of 88 percent. The article highlighted one employee's review:

'Flight benefits are the standout benefit for sure. Aside from that, the work in the IT department is project-based, so very team oriented with steady, predictable work patterns. A positive environment with good management.'

'Being recognized among the most high-powered tech companies in the world is evidence of the hard work we've been doing to transform Delta IT into a place where talented software pros want to work,' said Rahul Samant, E.V.P. and Chief Information Officer. 'We're changing the way travel is perceived by personalizing customer experiences and developing high-tech tools that empower our employees to engage more meaningfully with customers - and software engineers are core to making all of that happen.'

Glassdoor's recognition also follows Delta being named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies Worldwide for the second consecutive year. The company recently unveiled the newest version of its Flight Weather Viewer, a proprietary iPad app that depicts turbulence along a flight path through real-time graphics, allowing pilots to provide customers and flight attendants a safer, smoother flight. Delta also introduced the first-ever, curb-to-gate biometric terminal in the U.S. at the Atlanta Airport.
