Cummins Inc. announced the appointment of two Cummins Engine Business leaders to run key business operations within the Engine Business.
Effective Feb. 1, 2013 Ed Pence will lead the Cummins High Horsepower Business and Dave Crompton will lead the Heavy Duty, MidRange and Light Duty Worldwide Product Businesses which are being combined into one single global operating entity within the Engine Business. Pence will be replacing Mark Levett who will take on a new role at the company as Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations and Chief Executive Officer of the Cummins Foundation. Pence joined the company in 1981 in Purchasing and has held a variety of key positions, working with On and Off-Highway OEM's and end use customers, including several years in the Australian Mining, Marine and Power Generation markets. Since 2005, he has served as the Vice President and General Manager-- Heavy Duty Engine Business. Pence's strong leadership helped drive the Heavy Duty Engine Business strategy and product plan to position Cummins for significant global growth in new market segments with fit-for-market technologies.
Also effective Feb. 1, 2013 Crompton will assume leadership of the Heavy Duty, MidRange and Light Duty Worldwide Product Businesses, which are being combined to create better alignment with global partners, the industry in general, and to best meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders. In his seven years as Vice President and General Manager for MidRange, Crompton led the business through the investment cycle in new products and capacity expansion and also established new business segments and several new partnerships for Cummins.
